There is a season of childhood when a small, well-worn lovey holds enormous meaning. It’s there for new experiences, quiet moments, and the in-between parts of the day. It carries comfort, confidence, and familiarity — and one day, without much warning, it will be set aside. The Lovey Project at Fieldstone Studio exists to preserve this fleeting stage through timeless child portraits in Massachusetts, honoring childhood exactly as it is right now.

Why Photograph Your Child with Their Lovey?

A lovey is woven into your child’s daily life in ways that are easy to overlook until they’re gone. It’s held tightly during new transitions, clutched when emotions feel big, and trusted in moments when words fall short.

Photographing your child with their lovey allows us to capture something deeper than a smile — a sense of safety, softness, and genuine presence. These portraits reflect who your child is in this moment.

The Vision Behind The Lovey Project

The Lovey Project was created with intention. At Fieldstone Studio, I focus on timeless child portraits that feel natural, thoughtful, and enduring — images that won’t feel dated as trends change.

The simplicity of these sessions allows space for:

  • Quiet expressions
  • Honest emotion
  • A child’s natural way of being

The result is a portrait that feels personal, familiar, and deeply meaningful over time.

What to Expect from a Lovey Project Mini Session

These are child-focused mini sessions, paced gently and guided with care. Each child is invited to bring one special lovey or comfort item, often helping them settle in and feel at ease in front of the camera.

  • Sessions focus on individual child portraits
  • Up to two siblings may be photographed within one time slot, with an emphasis on individual images
  • This is not a full family session, allowing the experience to remain calm and unhurried

There is no expectation for perfection. Shy children are welcome. Pauses are encouraged. What matters most is authenticity.

Who These Sessions Are For

The Lovey Project is for parents who find themselves wanting to remember:

  • The way their child holds something familiar
  • The quiet confidence it brings
  • This exact stage before it passes

If you value imagery that feels emotional without being posed or performative, these sessions were created with you in mind.

Styling & Preparation

Styling plays an important role in creating portraits that feel timeless and cohesive. Leading up to The Lovey Project, you’ll receive a detailed style guide with everything you need to confidently prepare for your child’s session.

I’ll walk you through:

  • Color palettes that photograph beautifully
  • Fabric textures that add softness and depth
  • What to avoid so the focus stays on your child

You’ll also receive shoppable links to specific pieces I recommend, making it easy to put together an outfit that feels classic, effortless, and heirloom-inspired — without the guesswork. My goal is to help you feel fully prepared, so on session day, all you have to do is arrive and let your child be themselves.

Timeless Child Portraits in Massachusetts — Limited Availability

The Lovey Project mini sessions are offered in limited availability to preserve a thoughtful, personal experience for each child.

Long after the lovey has been tucked away, these portraits will remain — a quiet reminder of comfort, connection, and a season that mattered.
